Our Facilities |
GetNet, Inc is located at 333 East Indian School Road in Phoenix, Arizona. Our 6,500 square foot building is located in the downtown area. Because of its proximity, almost all major fiber conduits in the downtown area pass near this location. It is an ideal location for a network provider. Another feature of this location is that it is abount one city block away from the local Qwest central office known as Phoenix North. This is only one of two Zone One central offices in Arizona. The other is Phoenix Main.
| Connectivity to our Data Center from Qwest is provided by an OC12 fiber connection in a redundant ring configuration. There are many unused pairs of fiber in the conduit and two unused interducts for future growth. GetNet, Inc is the customer of record for the OC12. This means that immediately after a signed contract is completed, GetNet, Inc can issue a Letter of Authorization and Carrier Facilities Assignment (aka LOA/CFA). Again, this translates into faster turn up of our customer service. In addition, there are offices available for clients who wish to rent them for their day-to-day operations. This is an ideal arrangement for clients who have been operating a business out of their home who wish to have more space to grow. It is also conducive to clients who need to downsize their operations. |
One of the greatest benefits that comes from owning our own building is that there are never any hassles with the landlord. If there is a business cause for any internet-related construction for the property, it will be done. Wireless connectivity via radio or laser is a potential option for our customers.
Our network is constructed with bandwidth from Wiltel and Cogent. Each of these connections in to our network has their own dedicated Cisco 7507 router. This configuration combined with the use of industry standard routing protocols, BGP and OSPF, lets out routers automatically provide customers with multi-homed fault tolerance.
Our customer routers are a collection of two Cisco 7513 and four Cisco 7206 routers. This collection of routers maximizes our ability to respond to customer needs that include quality of service and fending off attacks as they arise. Our network is built upon Sun Solaris servers. The primary mail servers are four E3000's with four processors. The file server uses a RAID one configuration. While this configuration uses more space than the popular RAID five configuration, the direct benefit is that we can operate our servers at full speed even with disk failures. The mail solutions have grown to include an additional four mail servers to scrub the spam and viruses out. There is also a GetNet, Inc operated black list populated with feedback information from our own servers.
Open source is a strong force in the computer industry. As a direct result, there is fast growing number of Linux based servers. Our servers are open source friendly. If there is a open source project, there is an excellent chance that it is running on one or more of our servers.
| The decision to build a network using the popular industry components from Cisco Systems and Sun Microsystems is based on our belief that these industry standards bring the best cost-to-performance ratios. Other solutions would not enjoy the benefits of manfacturer support in the event of failures. Most often, support is needed when a clever individual discovers and exploits a defect in system software. In this common situation, no business man wants the fate of his business in the hands of a single person fixing software he didn't write for a platform that is not widely used. Performance is the direct business benefit from the choice of this platform. No matter how greatly a workload increases, the problems can go away with just a little money for the next size system. This is the ideal situation for any company who depends on their computer systems and network to operate. |

Electrical power is provided by APS. The downtown Phoenix area is served by two different power grids, our location included. An ASCO automatic power switch is the next component in the series followed by Uninterruptible Power Supplies. The back up generators are Multiquip 180's. These generators are the standard in the electrical power rental business because of their superior performance. In addition, all equipment with redundant power supplies are fed with electricity from different Uninterruptible Power Supplies. This has the effect of removing the UPS as a source of failure.
Because of GetNet, Inc's multiple levels of power redundancy, GetNet, Inc has not experienced a power related network outage in two and a half years. Since March 2003, GetNet, Inc has delivered uninterrupted power to our customers' servers and our own servers during two power outages which required switching over to our Diesel generators.
