Checking your Getnet Email with Netscape 6.x

Open Netscape Mail.

From the Edit menu choose Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings

That brings up the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window

Here you can change your name, and email address, 
but not the server that you check. 

To begin the process of configuring Netscape 6.x click on New Account





In the Account Wizard, click the button next to ISP or email provider



To continue click "Next".



On the Identity window, enter the following:

Your Name: The name that you'd like to appear on your email. 


Email Address: Your Email address. 




Click Next



On the Server Information window, enter the following:

In the Incoming Server box
Click the button next to POP or IMAP.
Server Name: mail.getnet.net 

In the Outgoing Server (SMTP) box
Server Name: mail.getnet.net



Click Next



On the Username window enter:
Username: Your E-Mail Account/POP Username. 
("john@getnet.net" email address would have the username of "john") 




Click Next

On the Account Name window, give this account a name, 
(it can be any name) that you will be able to use to 
recoginze this account later, we use the email address so we know
which email it checks. 

Account Name: anything you like

most people leave it whatever the default is set to. if your the only person
checking email and your only checking 1 email box in here, it wont really 
matter what you name it.



Click Next

Click Finish and you're done!



Here you should double-check the information on this screen 
to confirm that it does match your Getnet account information.



if some of the information doesn't match up, click the back button to 
make corrections to account settings.
