TTH translates TEX, the predominant mark-up language for
expressing mathematics, into a near equivalent in HTML, the language
of world-wide-web browsers. It thereby enables mathematical documents
to be made available on the web. Document structure, using either the
Plain or LaTeX macro packages, is also translated and incorporated
in the form of hyperlinks. TtH is extremely fast and completely
portable. It produces more compact, faster viewing, web documents than
other converters, because it really translates the equations, instead
of converting them to images. Consult these notes for a
comparison with other programs.
Inline equations are translated; for example: xm2 = y2 + z2 + 2y·z, as well as display equations:
_ x
(x) = 1 +
é ê ê
ê ë
12xa
+ 3wi
1 + x2 + 2x3
ù ú ú
ú û
1/2
.
If the equation above does not show Greek letters or
large brackets
correctly, then your browser configuration needs some adjustment.
To help you if you are running on Linux or other Un*x or VMS, there
are notes for
enabling symbols in Netscape under X.
On the Mac you should change your Options/Document-Encoding to
"MacRoman" (in NS4.0 View Encoding MacRoman, and also Edit
Preferences Fonts Use-document-fonts).

The
tth manual gives
more information and is an example of a LaTeX document translated
and served to you by tth in real time directly from TEX source.
You can examine an extended
actual translated Plain TeX document with lots of mathematics. And here is
another. This is an
example with automatically
included figures.
