Getnet is Santander Group’s global payments platform
Volume and transaction figures: Getnet, 2025. Acquiring licence across 30 EEA countries + Switzerland
One partner. International growth, with less complexity
Why now
Every new market adds another layer of complexity
Only 18.2% of European retail will happen online in 2026. In Asia it's already 30.4%.
Your customers are already shopping across borders
Local payment methods are consolidating into wider standards, and domestic rails are starting to travel: Brazil's Pix is now accepted in Spain, Portugal and the United States; India's UPI has expanded across South-East Asia and the Middle East. Europe is now outpacing the Americas, at 8.5% against 7.7%. At the same time, artificial intelligence is gaining ground across European retail, and a new generation of payment solutions is making checkout faster and simpler. The infrastructure underneath European commerce is changing.
Which means the question isn't whether to sell across Europe. It's who you do it with.

Same platform. Same integration. A new region.
The questions we get asked
Yes — around 95% of payment methods across our European focus markets, including the local ones that matter in each.
Where a market has its own domestic card scheme, most cards are co-badged: they carry both the local scheme and an international one. Online, those payments route through the international network as standard, with no impact on your customer's experience or on your approval rates.
Settlement terms are agreed as part of your commercial conditions. They vary by payment method and by market — each local method has its own settlement cycle — so we set them out clearly for your specific mix rather than quoting a single figure.
It goes into whichever account you choose, at whichever bank you choose. Our settlement is bank-agnostic by design: keep the banking relationships you already have.
A fair question, and we'd rather answer it head-on. We're an established acquirer in Iberia — second in the market, and the fastest-growing over the last five years — now operating under our own acquiring licence across 31 European countries.
The model itself isn't new either. It processes 171 million transactions a month across Latin America today, through the same single integration.
We're entering Europe as a challenger. We'd rather prove it on your numbers than ask you to take our word for it.
Market position in Iberia by acquiring volume. Ranking perimeters differ: Top 10 worldwide refers to the Nilson Report ranking of acquirers by domestic purchase transactions.
